Trends in the Russian market of household goods

According to the INFOLine agency, the total volume of the household goods and renovation market at the end of 2024 amounted to 5.69 trillion rubles. This is almost 19% higher than the value of 2023. According to the agency's experts, by the end of 2025, the market will grow by 5-6% to 5.97-6 trillion rubles, if current trends continue. In the B2C segment, sales may increase by 3-5% by the end of 2025, and by 8-9% in B2B.

Previously, the company predicted an annual increase in sales of 16-17% in the next three years. Major market players are also expected to stagnate in the industry. For example, Lemana PRO expects to maintain revenue at the level of 2024, and Maxidom's sales are still growing at the level of inflation, but no tangible growth is expected by the end of this year. One of the reasons for the slowdown in the market is associated with a decrease in the pace of housing construction and the commissioning of new buildings. However, both companies are seeing an increase in demand for home décor and home improvement products to enhance existing homes.

At the same time, a number of trends continue to influence the market. For example, the "Home" category on marketplaces is in the top 3 in terms of revenue and reaches 344 billion rubles. Marketplaces also continue to increase their share in the B2C sector: sales of DIY goods on Wildberries and Ozon increased by 56% and 55%, respectively, in January-May 2025. By the end of the year, Wildberries predicts a 70% increase in turnover in this segment.

Moreover, in September this year, it is planned to launch a new platform for household goods - IDIkey, which will sell products from domestic manufacturers.

Another trend is the growing interest in Russian brands. Representatives of Yandex Market noted that sales of household goods of Russian brands are growing faster than others in this category. In the first half of 2025, their sales increased 2.4 times compared to the same period in 2024. The largest increase was shown by the segment of home textiles from Russian sellers.

It is worth mentioning the continuing trend for the development of private label retailers. According to the report of the Commonwealth Partnership, the share of private labels in the non-food segment (clothing, footwear, household goods, etc.), which should enter the market in 2025, may reach 55%. In 2019–2023, such grades accounted for no more than 24%.

Speaking about the key aspects that buyers pay attention to when choosing household goods, we can note the trend for environmental friendliness, functionality and conscious consumption.
