In anticipation of the New Year, we present an overview of the situation on the market of holiday and Christmas decorations

Traditionally, with the approach of the New Year holidays, the category of goods on this theme becomes one of the most popular. In early November, Russians began actively buying New Year decorations and Christmas tree toys. The Ozon company reported to the Izvestia newspaper an increase in sales of New Year decor in the first week of November by 24% compared to the same period last year. Demand for interior decor increased by 36%, and for garlands by 21%.

Representatives of Yandex Market also note an increase in the number of orders for New Year's goods since the beginning of October by almost 40% compared to the same period in 2023.

According to experts from the Lemana PRO hypermarket chain, the most popular products of the season are artificial trees, Christmas tree decorations, garlands and decorative figurines.

Key trends in the holiday and Christmas decorations market include:

// Eco-friendliness trend. When choosing New Year's decorations, there is an increase in demand for products made from natural materials: wood, fir branches, dried flowers, etc.
// Popularity of porcelain and vintage Christmas tree decorations. Experts agree that Christmas tree decorations that replicate Soviet vintage toys have been popular in the last few years. A special trend in 2024 is considered to be interest in soft knitted, fabric and felted Christmas tree decorations. At the same time, the popularity of custom-designed Christmas tree decorations is growing.
// Technological innovations. LED smart garlands, which can be controlled to adjust the brightness and glow mode from a remote control or through an app, are becoming increasingly popular on marketplaces. At the same time, manufacturers are expanding the range of Christmas trees with built-in lighting.
